Educational Philosophy
The educational philosophy of Covenant Christian Academy is
based on the Holy Bible, which presents God as the center of
life. He created and sustains all things through His Son, Jesus
Christ (Colossians 1:16-17). The universe and all life are
dynamically related to God and have the purpose of glorifying
Him (Psalm 19:1,2; Romans 1:19,20). Man was made in God's image
(Gen. 1:26-27), different from all creation, with the unique
capacity to know and respond to God personally and voluntarily.
Because man is a sinner by Adam's nature, he cannot know or
honor God in his condition (Psalms 51:4-6, Romans 3:23). The way
to true life is through faith in Jesus Christ. The "born again"
experience is the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives (John
3:3, Acts 4:12).
Covenant
Christian Academy has been established to provide a sound
education of high academic standards, integrated with the truth
of the Holy Scriptures, and to assist parents in applying
scriptural direction. (Deuteronomy 6: 6-7; Ephesians 6:4)
We believe that true education must meet the needs of the whole
child in his spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and social
life. We realize that an important difference exists between the
Christian and non-Christian viewpoints on a given subject.
Although the knowledge is similar, no subject can be taught in
the totality of its truth if the Creator, Christ, is ignored or
denied.
The goal of our educational process is to instill in our
students a system of values consistent with the Bible, and to
educate youth in the highest principles of Christian leadership,
self discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity,
and good citizenship.
Attendance at Covenant Christian Academy is a privilege, not a
right. Parents and students are expected to be fully supportive
of the philosophy of our school.
Statement of Faith
We believe:
|
|
The Bible to be the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God. |
|
|
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. |
|
|
We believe in the deity of Jesus, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years. |
|
|
In the blessed hope of the rapture of the church at Christ's second coming. |
|
|
The cleansing from sin is through repentance and personal salvation by faith in the Blood of Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit. |
|
|
The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. |
|
|
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it. |
|
|
In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. |
|
|
In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the
one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting
damnation. |
Our Curriculum

The main curriculum base is A Beka Books, the world-renown
publishers of Christian textbooks.
A Beka has produced all the basics of a solid education in
beautiful, full-color books and workbooks. Phonics is the
cornerstone of kindergarten and the other grades build on these
principles.
History and Science are taught from a Biblical perspective.
History asserts patriotism and endorses the hand of God
throughout time. Science teaches observation and substantiation
of proven theories. It reinforces creationism.
Grammar includes all the fundamentals of the English language
and its structure. Literature offers the classics as well as
modern authors.
We use Association of Christian Schools International text
workbooks for
Spelling and Bible in third and fourth grades.
We use the Bob Jones University Press reading program for reading in third and fourth grades.
Enrichment Middle School classes include Latin, Logic, and Cooking.
Our specialty classes include Chapel, Music, Computer, Library, Gym, and Sign Language.
Educational field trips, as well as events and projects, enhance
the regular schedules.
Kindergarten
We offer a full day program. The A Beka kinder curriculum
emphasizes phonics, spelling and writing. Children are reading
simple stories (with one and two vowel words)
and doing simple math by the end of the year.
Before/Aftercare
Before and Aftercare is provided by the Central Assembly Christian Daycare for a small fee.
Transportation
CCA uses local school district bussing where available. Eleven
surrounding districts provide busing.
